About this property

Welcome to The Lodge at Gulf State Park, a Hilton Hotel

Located within Gulf State Park and overlooking a beach on the Gulf of Mexico, The Lodge at Gulf State Park, a Hilton Hotel, offers a relaxed setting with easy access to natural surroundings. Its design blends modern comfort with the park’s scenic coastal environment, appealing to visitors who want to combine beach time with outdoor activities. The property’s peaceful atmosphere is noted by guests, although some highlight minor inconveniences like parking fees and limited room ventilation.

The hotel features two beachfront restaurants, including the on-site Foodcraft, which receives generally favorable reviews for quality and convenience, alongside two bars and an outdoor pool. The pool area is seen as family-friendly with a shallow depth and ample facilities, though some reviewers mentioned the water temperature and drink quality could be improved. Additional amenities such as free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, a business center, and accessible accommodations make the Lodge suitable for a range of travelers.

The hotel’s proximity to Gulf State Park’s beaches and recreational facilities aligns well with guests seeking a blend of relaxation and active experiences.

While the overall guest rating of 4.4 out of 5 reflects satisfaction with cleanliness, service, and location, some feedback points to areas for improvement such as adding room amenities like microwaves and enhancing ventilation. The hotel is not pet-friendly and does not provide airport shuttle services, which may be relevant considerations for some visitors. Families, couples, and leisure travelers looking for beachfront access combined with park amenities are likely to find the Lodge a convenient and comfortable choice.

Incredible nice stay during this January. Very quiet, very clean, great staff and great access to the State Park. I'm a little disappointed about paying $15/day to park and having to hike back to the entrance when the lot is not patrolled or secure in anyway. On-site restaurant, Foodcraft, is a decent choice, but they're are definitely better choices for the price. The rooms could use a microwave, but otherwise it was great. On site coffee shop ($$$) explained why the room coffee was less than ideal. Overall a great choice, but know that you'll pay for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee, water.... etc... know before you go. Even with these notes, I'll still be back.

Stayed here due to a marathon. Two of the three guest service agents were good and positive. The one seemed to have an attitude about her. They were very accommodating allowing me to stay in my same room even though I made a 2nd reservation. I wasn't planning to stay an additional day but with the impending weather and flying I knew my flight might get canceled. I decided to stay an extra day. I had a great sized room , king sized bed, bunl beds with a wonderful view of the ocean. I didn't get to take advantage of the balcony much it was a bit cool and rainy . I wished I had walked to the beach too but the weather kept me from doing that. They charged $15 a day for parking which seems a little ridiculous to me. Normally I wouldn't stay at a place that charges parking . I made an exception this time due to running a marathon nearby.

Thankful we stayed here. Overall a very pleasant experience. We're visiting from Alaska and stayed 2 nights. We throughly enjoyed our experience. Rooms were very clean. Appreciated the bunkbeds for my daughter's. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Ammenties are great. Coffee shop, restaurant, bar and pool. Valet and Bell hops are outstanding! All very friendly, accommodating and efficient. Poolside bar was decent. Staff were friendly. Drinks were tasty at first but watered down so quickly with too much ice melt I didn't even finish them! I bought 3 cocktails and realized unless I added a second shot, I'd be better off making my own in my room or skipping the drinks all together and saving myself $12-15 a drink. Pool was chilly but clean. Lodge supplied ample poolside towels for guests to utilize. I love that the pool was only 3' deep and supplied amplr stairs and a inclined entrance on one side. Fantastic for adults to dip in and kiddos to play safely. Great entertainment at the bar too. Local sigers & guitar players. Overall good vibes throughout Lodge including guests and staff. Negative input and recommendations...Huge lack of airflow in rooms/bathrooms. Found it odd there was no bathroom fan or room fan. I had to request a box fan to help us sleep and get some airflow in the room. There is adjustable A/C & Heat that are sufficient but we utilized opening our balcony door a few times for a breeze. Also, lets be honest... Nobody wants to poop and have the entire room smell because there's zero ventilation or airflow. Definitely recommend an update for a bathroom fan/dehumidifier! The Lodge is currently under construction for a second pool and had the boardwalk closed. Great upgrade coming, but the inconvenience was real since there was only one beach access point open and it was on the opposite side of the hotel. We had to walk pretty far with all our items to the beach. Also felt $50 for two chairs and a umbrella was pricey. $25-30 Seems a bit more reasonable. Would be fantastic to see a wash station near the pool for rinsing sand off or when exiting the pool. Maybe a small locker room? Definitely need a "Suitmate" swimsuit dryer or something available poolside for drying swimsuits. Lack of airflow in rooms makes it challenging to dry any wet clothes or towels. Maybe add on-site option for washer & dryers or just add some fans to rooms. Parking is pricey at $22 +tip a day for valet. General parking a bit far & inconvenient distance if you have a lot of bags/items. Also no business center or computers available.

The Lodge is absolutely one of my top three favorite hotels. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and incredibly relaxing. The rooms are beautifully designed, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed—perfect for unwinding and truly enjoying your stay. One of my favorite things about The Lodge is how much there is to do without ever needing to leave the property. Whether you’re looking to relax, explore amenities, or simply enjoy the overall experience, everything is conveniently located and well maintained. The perfect combination of comfort, quality, and atmosphere makes The Lodge a place I always look forward to visiting again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, memorable stay.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lodge at Gulf State Park. The location is outstanding—right on the beach with beautiful views of the Gulf, and close to so many nearby attractions, restaurants, and activities. The property is new, modern, and very well designed, with a clean, upscale look throughout. Everything—from the rooms to the common areas—was immaculately clean, which made the stay even more comfortable. The staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming, which always makes a difference. I also appreciated the gym, which was modern and well-equipped—much better than what you usually find at a resort. On-site restaurants were excellent, and it was convenient having quality dining options without needing to leave the property (though there’s plenty nearby if you want to explore). Overall, this is a top-tier beach destination that blends comfort, convenience, and great views. I would absolutely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed here for a honeymoon, and we loved the place! the bedrooms were nice and clean, with an absolutely amazing view of the gulf! We even got to see dolphins every morning. The service was excellent, the staff were kind, and we enjoyed the restaurants attached to the hotel and the coffee bar downstairs. The location being right at the state park is amazing too, and we enjoyed walking around. I will say, bring good walking shoes if you’re keen to explore the state park!

I was here for 4 days and enjoyed the property, the service and the food at Pesce. The fish at the other "comfort" restaurant was just "ok", like a bar. The location on the beach is phenomenal. The new pools they are putting in sound amazing. Cheers to all the staff.. Just outstanding. I stay at a lot of Hilton properties. This was a very nice experience.

Very nice Hotel! Very clean! I loved every minute of our stay from start to finish. Love the valet and express check out. They offer free bikes. We took ours to Gulf State Park where it’s not only beautiful but we saw alligators and a bald eagle and its two baby bald eagles. We’re definitely coming back and next time we will stay longer! To my fellow Texans you will love it here!
